Sitting confidently inside a Ford vehicle, passengers are surrounded by a safety cage frame made with high-strength boron steel. Seat-mounted side airbags and a Safety Canopy® System are standard, and select models have an available knee airbag for the driver, and inflatable rear outboard safety belts, which help distribute crash-force energy across more of the torso area than a traditional belt.2
Safe Tire Pressure
Safety features certainly serve their purpose during a crash, but there are also plenty in place that help prevent one. The available Tire Pressure Monitoring System does just that by monitoring individual tire pressure which not only helps maintain ride comfort, it warns the driver if there is a problem.3
Ford offers available AdvanceTrac® with ESC (electronic stability control) to help maintain control in adverse road conditions by detecting wheelslip, understeer or oversteer. Available AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability ControlTM) helps provide control by also sensing roll motion. The available Curve Control feature slows the vehicle down when it senses that it’s going too fast for a particular curve.4

4Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.
